Ice World

Last week we did something really cool; ICE WORLD! The Children's Museum of Transportation, just down the street from my school, is having a neat display that is all made of ice and snow. Some kids went there for a birthday party a few weeks ago, and then some other classes went there for a field trip and it sounded pretty neat, so I dug out all the winter stuff we brought and took Chester. The other teachers warned me it would be cold, so we had pants, sweaters, toques, gloves, socks and shoes, but really; How cold could it be? We're in Taiwan!! Well, it was FREEZING! Literally, probably -20 degrees, the biting cold that numbs your legs and makes your face tingle. I have no idea how the Taiwanese did it; there were girls coming in there with skirts on, no hats or mitts...Crazy. But to us it was pretty neat to experience something so much like home. The whole display was really cool; under the sea ice carvings; seaweed and fish, a pack of wolves and an igloo you could go inside, a train to walk through and the Stars Wars Cantina, which was super neat. They also had an ice slide where you could sit on a piece of carpet and slide down a slide of ice, That was my favorite part. The other cool part was the toboggan hill, with real snow and a Taiwanese guy to help all the helpless Chinese people figure it out. I'll let the video do the talking;
