Things in music that don't translate well into Chinese

Two stories for today's post.

I've got a cold and sore throat, so was taking it a bit easy in class today by showing a Raffi and the Sunshine Band video. We got to the song 'I like to eat, eat, eat apples and bananas'. If you are familiar with the song you remember that you change the vowels to the different long vowel sounds each time; 'A'te 'a'pples and ban'a'n'a's, etc...Well, in Chinese the word 'nay nay' means nipple, or as we use it, booby. So we were singing about eating nay nay and the kids were laughing and pointing to their boobies...oh boy.

Another one happened last week. We were singing notes off of the staff; G A B. And we got to a part with several Gs in it so we were singing, B A G G G...something like that, but anyway the kids started laughing and laughing. Any guesses as to what a GG is in Chinese? Penis. Doh.
