So last weekend was a typhoon weekend. (of course on the weekend, and not a school day, but whatever;) I thought Gemma would be nutso, because Saturday is uaually our long trip to the park day, and we usually go to a park that is farther form home, bring toys, etc. Her favorite lately is the 'sand park', where there is a giant sandbox. She loves the sand! But we were housebound for the whole weekend. Chris did take her out for a bit on Saturday ngiht, just down the street to the video store, but typhoons can be very unpredictable as far as intense winds and crazy rain so you don't want to risk being outside when a huge gust comes or a downpour begins because they come and go so suddenly. Fortunately, Gemma was awesome! I got this list of house stuff I've been wanting to get done for weeks all done. ALL of her clothes sorted (I found more boxes in her cloest), the huge junk pile all gone through and put away, and baby stuff brought out. I even set up our pack n play to see if the basinette worked properly and it does, so I think our baby has his/her first bed. (We lent our crib to the Wu's, so until Elias is done with it we're looking for alternate bed sources.) It felt so good to get that done because I'd been wanting to for so long.
Today I invited some of Gemma's friends over to play; a grade 2 student and a grade 4 student. They have invited Gemma to their house (and given me free time) and so I am returning the favor. My hope is to get packed for Green Bay retreat, which is tomorrow. Hotel on the beach, pools, ocean, playland for kids... Ahh, should be a relaxing weekend. We leave Friday at 3:30. (its a half day at school, with meetings in the afternoon. And Costco pizza for lunch!)
