On the first day of school, a lovely arrangement of flowers appeared in the lobby. It was huge, and lush and colourful, with bright flowers springing out in a very regal manner.
Today, almost four weeks later, the plant is still there. It has lost some of its grandeur though. The flowers have long since faded and been pulled off. The overall colour has become faded, as it is with things that you see day in day and day out for weeks on end. It is clearly tired of the 24/7 show its been required to put on for the last four weeks.
This week, I feel like the plant. A little wore out, a little plucked, a little drained of colour. I've been working so hard at school, trying to keep one step ahead, and trying to take care of the number 1 things at home without letting the other things get to me. I am so thankful it is a short week this week.
We're going on Friday to our annual staff retreat to GreenBay for some beach and swimming pool. I can't wait!
