I hit such a tired wall every night about 7:30. All I want to do is sit on the couch. I get Guinness to bed about 8, usually, and then it takes all of my effort to get the essentials done so I can fall asleep with Gemma. The esssentials are:
-get Gemma's bag ready for school (wash bowl and water bottle, do homework)
-move laundry from washer to dryer (if any)
-pick up living room
-put supper away
-wash dishes, if I didn't do them after supper. This is what gets skipped first.
What I would like to get done is
-sweep and wash floors (wish I did it twice a week)
-clean bathrooms (wish I did it once a week)
-clean some random spot in the house; our bedroom, closets, shelves.... places where clutter builds.
-read Bible/have quiet time
But I just can't. 6 out of 7 nights I crash with Gem at 9:30. It feels like jet lag. My eyes will not stay open, my body aches. Tonight I had two cups of coffee after supper and nothing...I totally just dragged myself out of Gemma's bed.
IF I can make it to 10pm, then I am through the wall and I can usually stay up till 1 or 2. But man, its hard!
Yes, I wish Gemma went to sleep earlier. BUT we have our special play time after Guinness goes to bed. And she naps at school, so she is truly not tired. Even now at 10:35 she is laying awake in bed. Something to look forward to in summer, I hope; earlier bed time for her.
