The field trip was soo awesome, I had a great time! When we first got their they had kids holding up this sticks with flower garland wrapped around them like an arch for us to walk under and they were singing a song. Then we watched a video about their school, and of a performance a team of theirs did in Europe last year. It was a sport like hacky sack but its called shuttlecock. Instead of a sack it has a flat end that weighted, and feather sticking up the top. Then they kick it around like a hacky sack, doing all these funky back kicks and twisty things, and these girls could kick their legs way up in the air and then catch it up on their foot. It was pretty cool. So then we got to each make one by sewing a washer into a circle of material, sticking some feathers onto it. So that was fun. Then we made kites and went to a park and flew them. It was the beautiful day; blue skies and sunny and the the kids ran aorund all trying to launch their kites. It was glorious, really. The kids had a lot of fun running around and many of them made new friends with the Chinese students. We will be hosting them in November, so we'll have to get creative as far as what we are going to do. I made a video, so my project today is to learn how to use my video editing software and do something with it.
We had a successful Costco run this week, we learned how to take the bus and came hom eby taxi because we had tonnes of stuff. Real bacon and pancake mix was teh big winners, and craisins for me....Yumm. So this morning we had an awesome breakfast and now we are going to enjoy our weekend. Yay weekend! Actually, there are only 8 more shcool days left in the term. Andf we have a short week next because of PD, then a week off school. Time is flying.
I have a prayer request for you all; pray for good weather (as if you're not already ;) for the farmers so they can get the crops off.
